Project Updates
Case Road Bridge
Construction is underway on the Case Road bridge over the San Jacinto River. This new 4-lane bridge will tie-in with Case Road improvements and is expected to be completed in Winter 2026.
Construction is starting on the Case Road bridge foundation with the crane placing steel column cages into the ground.
Minimal Traffic Impacts
- Traffic capacity will not be impacted on Case Road as motorists will use the existing two-lane bridge while the southern bridge span is constructed.
- Traffic will switch to the new two-lane southern bridge span when construction begins on the northern bridge span.
- All four lanes, two in each direction, and a dedicated bike lane will open on Case Road once the bridge is completed.
Case Road Improvements
Crews widened Case Road from 2 to 4 lanes from Mapes to Goetz roads and added new storm drainage; recycled waterlines; concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter; and a dedicated bike lane along the new roadway. Motorists are currently using one lane in each direction during construction on the bridge over the San Jacinto River. Work is 90% complete.
Intersection Improvements
The project reconfigured intersection alignment and will add new traffic signals at the intersections of Case and Murrieta roads, and Case and Mapes roads to improve safety and traffic flow. Work is 90% complete; signal activation is pending.
Safety and traffic flow improvements at the intersection Case and Ellis roads include new traffic signals; railroad track and signaling upgrades; new concrete center median; and the installation of new concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter.
Motorists are using the new intersection alignment at Case and Mapes road.
